“Light Yagami?” I heard a voice say behind me. I turned and saw a boy. About my age, a little shorter than me. He had long-ish blonde hair and blue eyes.
“Yes?” I replied.
“I’m working with the police force investigating the case of “Kira”. And you are one of our suspects.”
“I’m the chief's son, why would I kill anyone?”
“You never know. Criminals have a different mindset than everyone else. They have the mindset of psychopath. Psychopath’s do things that no one else can explain. They-”
“Okay, I get it, psychopaths are psychopaths.”
“Anyway, I need you to come with me so I can ask you a few questions.”
“No. I don’t trust you. I mean, why should I trust a random person I just met on the street?”
“You’re right. But,” He pulled something out of his pocket and showed it to me. “I have a badge to prove that I really am a detective.” I examined it closely and confirmed it was real.
“Okay. Fine.” I conceded. “But what’s your name?” I don’t know why I didn’t think to read the name.
“Just call me Ryo.” He said.
“Okay… Ryo.”
“Anyways, let’s go.” He started walking and I followed.
“Are we gonna walk the whole way?”
“Stop complaining.” He said, not stopping. I scoffed and followed him. He looked back at me but kept walking.
“So… what’s your real name?”
“That’s none of your business.”
“Why not?”
“Because.”
“Because why?”
“Stop asking.”
“But I want to know.”
“But I said to stop.”
“But I don’t want to.”
“But I have the power to arrest you.”
“But you can’t arrest me for talking to you.”
“But I can arrest you for disobeying an officer.”
“But how am I disobeying an officer?”
“Because I told you to stop asking but you didn’t.”
“But-” Then he turned around and poked my chest.
“But stop.” We stared at each other for a while until Ryuzaki started blushing and I smirked.
“What are you blushing about?” His eyes widened and he turned around and started walking again.
“Nothing.” I grabbed his wrist.
“Tell me.” He yanked his hand away.
“I will arrest you.”
“For what?”
“Assaulting an officer. Grabbing my wrist? That counts.”
“Wow, that’s stupid.”
“It is. But it’s the law.” He said. I sighed.
“Whatever.” I put my hands in my pockets.
~Timeskip~
We came to a house.
“Where are we?”
“My house. Now come on inside.” He said and opened the door and stepped aside for me. I walked past him, into the house and looked around.
“Nice place.”
“Thanks, now let’s go.” He walked into some room and I followed. It looked like an interrogation room.
“Why do you have an interrogation room in your house?”
“Well I am a detective after all.” He looked back at me and smiled. I nodded and sat down.
“So, first off, do you know anything about Kira?”
“Only what my dad has told us.”
“What exactly has your dad told you?”
“Just how many deaths have happened in a day, you guys haven’t caught Kira. That kind of thing.”
“Hm… how much do you really know? I can tell you’re lying. Now, give me the truth.”
“I-”
“And don’t give me some lame excuse like, ‘what are you talking about, I don’t know anything’.” I paused and thought for a minute.
“Really, I don’t know know anything.” He glared at me for a minute.
“Stop lying. I told you not to give me any lame excuse.”
“I’m not lying really.” He sighed.
“I will get the information that I need, no matter what it takes.”
“What information do you need, exactly?”
“I need to know if you’re Kira.”
“I’m not Kira, I told you that!” I shouted.
“But, how can I know for sure you you aren’t lying?”
“Look at me! Look into my eyes! Do these look like the eyes of a man that is lying?!” And we stared directly into each other’s eyes.
“I suppose not, but you can’t tell just by looking into someone’s eyes.” I was frustrated but didn’t let him get to me. I wasn’t going to let him know that I’m Kira. He stared at me for a minute.
“Look, I get that I’m a suspect, but I really am not Kira. If I were I probably would have already killed you, right? Dad told me that Kira can kill someone by just knowing their face.”
“So you were lying.”
“W-what? No-”
“You’re father told you that Kira couldn’t kill without a face, he didn’t just tell you how many people had died in a day.” He replied without emotion. I smiled nervously.
“Heh, yeah, sorry.”
“Light Yagami?”
“Yes?”
“It’s me, L.” He smiled. I stared at him for a minute. Then he pulled off the mask he was wearing and L was behind it. He took off the wig too.
“L? You bastard.” I smiled and stood up and put my arms around his neck. He kissed me passionately. “I was wondering where you’d gone off to.” He just smiled. I kissed him then heard a knock on the door.
“Who is it?” L called.
“It’s just me, Watari.” The butler (or who I assumed was the butler) answered.
“Come in.” And he did.
“The rest of the detectives are here to see you.” Watari said. L nodded and kissed me one last time and walked off. I followed him and found only my father and Matsuda.
“Light, you need to go home.” My father said as soon as he saw me.
“Why?” I asked.
“Because I need to discuss something with Ryuzaki… alone.”
“No disrespect intended Mr. Yagami, but I don’t want Light to leave yet. He will stay.”
“Ryuzaki-”
“Don’t argue with me.” My father sighed.
“Fine. He can stay. But I would like to speak with you without Light hearing it.”
“What would you like to discuss, Mr. Yagami?”
“Your relationship with my son.” My eyes widened as I wondered how he knew about me and L.
“H-how did you find out?” I asked. Dad just looked at Watari. L looked at Watari as well.
“I told you not to tell him.”
A Month earlier…
L invited me to his hotel room and said not to tell anyone not even you father so I just said I was going to my girlfriends house.
“So L why did you want me here?” L didn’t look at me just sitting with a cup of tea.
“L are you awake...are you even listening to me?” I moved the chair to see L asleep. I told Watari that L fell asleep and he pick him up and put him in his room and I was getting tired so I went into his room there was a couch in there (for some reason i don’t know) and then L woke up.
“I’m sorry I fell asleep this nomaly does not happen.” He said with a little sadness in his voice.
“There no need to apologise...now tell me why you want me here.” Then he started blushing like crazy. He look me in the eye, blushing even harder.
“When I meet you Light I was investigating you and your father, accusing you of being Kira.”
“I know this that's how we met. But you didn’t tell my father I was a suspect.” I replied, then Looked away like he was mad or something.
“Light I have……” Blushing really bad, I touch his shoulder and his face turned really red.
“L, tell me or I will leave.” Then he looked me in the eye and kissed me.
“I have feelings for you Light.” Then I started to blush. This may be a trap to get me to say I’m Kira... he did say that he will do anything to catch a killer. But I go closer to kiss him… I could feel my heart beating fast or it may have been L’s heart... either way, I loved it. Then I feel asleep, but just before I did, I saw Watari close the door and whisper.
“Good night, both of you.”
“Good morning Light.” I wanted to yell at him for letting me sleep with him.
“L, I told my mom that I would be at my girlfriend's house, why did you let me sleep?”
“Well sorry, but that's was the best night of my life...sorry if you don’t feel the same. Here are some clothes for you to wear. Just go home and tell your mom you slept over at your girlfriend's house.” Then I felt like crap. I didn’t know what to say.
“L, that's not what I meant. I did enjoy it but……”
“Just go, Light. I know what you meant.”
“But what do I tell my dad?”
“Tell him what I told you to tell your mother.”
“Okay…..love you.”
“Love you too.”Then I want back home. Ryuk was right next to me the whole time.
“So... are you still going to kill him?”
“Probably. He still is in my way if being the god of the new world.”
“Well that sucks.”
“What?”
“He said he loved you. Do you mean it?”
“I don’t know...” I said, as I walk into my house. “I think I do.” That night, I barely slept. I felt dead. Like if I sleep, then my mission will go away, no matter what, I have to kill L.
“You know you can give away the Death Note and I’ll give it to another human who has the same idea as you.” Ryuk said, like he cared.
“I’ll deal with it later. If I stop killing criminals now, L will know that I’m Kira, so I have to keep killing criminals. Okay Ryuk?”
“Sure, but you and L are cute together.” I started to blush.
“Maybe, but….STOP TALKING OKAY…. Maybe I love L, okay? I never thought this could happen.” So after I fell asleep, I was ready to kill the day (and maybe kiss L again).
Present day...
“Dad what do you know?!”I shouted.
“I know that you lied to me and your mother… L I can’t believe you slept with my son!” I don’t think I've seen my dad so angry before in my life.
“Dad calm down. So what if me and L slept together? We just kissed, that's it.”
“You still kissed him, Light. Have you ever thought that he is doing this so you’ll tell him that you are kira?!” Thanks dad now he is 20% sure that I am Kira.
“I hope he isn't….if he is then my love would mean nothing to him.” L… I want to kill you, but I love you at the same time.
“So he does love you, Light” Damn, Ryuk, why now?
“Mr. Yagami, can I have the room with you, alone, please?” L what are you doing?
“Fine L… Light leave us”
“But da-”
“Now.” About 15 min later, dad came out looking mad.
“Light, you are going to stay with L until the real Kira is caught.”
“What are you going to tell mom?”
“The truth.”
“No, mom will go crazy!”
“I’m sorry, Light. She has to know.” Crap, crap, crap! Why do I have to love L but want to kill him at the same time?!
“No, tell her that your son went on a school field trip planned last minute and they don’t know when they will come back.” Damn, L, I think I know why I love you.
“Okay, bye Light.”
“Bye dad.” Then L took me to his room and closed the door.
“So where were we?” And we laid in bed.
“I think I remember.” I smirked slightly. Then he unbuttoned my shirt slowly kissing me while unbuttoning my shirt.
“L, what if Watari comes in?” I said, as L unbuttoned the last button of my shirt.
“He wouldn't…..I locked the door.” Nice one, L. At least Misa doesn’t know.
“I forgot to ask, what are you going to tell Misa?” Crap, now you ask!
“Let’s not worry about it now, but when it happens, it happens. Until then, let’s enjoy ourselves.” I said, as he kissed me and then we rolled as my hand pushed against his chest.
“LIGHT!” He screamed, as we rolled off the bed.
“L? Are you okay?”
“I’m fine. And don’t call me ‘L’, remember?”
“Sorry.” I said. I was hoping for him to give me his real name. I’m still confused on whether to kill him or to love him.
“Okay, Light, let’s do this.” L was happy, but 5 hours later we fell asleep, and didn’t wake up until 1:30pm.
“Light, if you are Kira, then do you think I would still love you a little?” God damnit. L why? Just why?
“I told you, I'm Not Kira. Ryuzaki, why don’t you believe me?” He still is investigating me. Ryuk is gone, but if I tell L that I’m kira…then I’ll get arrested.
“Do you really love me, Ryuzaki?”
“Yes, Light, I do. I am I’m not doing this for my investigation. I would never do such an evil thing.” So, Ryuk was right, he does mean it.
“Okay, Light, it’s best if we start investigating Kira again.”
“Okay, Ryuzaki.” But L you still have to die that's something that will never change… I’m sorry.
At the end of L’s life, our relationship was getting better. But his death was the best day of my life. But also the worst.
“Li-Light... stay with me... please...”
“L, there is something I need to tell you.”
“No... you are…..”
“Yes... I am Kira.”
“Did you... ever… love me… Light?”
“Yes, I did, but for me to be the god of the new world... you had to die.”
“Can you... at least... kiss me before ...I die?”
“Yes.” Then, he died in my arms like I dreamed of, but this is not the way it played out.
